We need to find ways to open conscience door of Turkish society: Turkish journalist

YEREVAN, APRIL 23, ARMENPRESS: It has been already the 5th year the Turkish journalist, member of “Greens and lefts” Party Adnan Genjan arrives in Armenia on April 24. He visits Tsitsernakaberd, meets the Armenian intellectuals, public figures and introduces his and his party’s position upon the Armenian Genocide.

In a conversation with Armenpress Genjan noted that every year they commemorate the Genocide and pay tribute to the memory of the victims. “We want the millions of Armenians who came to Armenia or settled aboard and formed the Armenian Diaspora after losing their birthplace, to retrieve their rights”.

By the presentation of Genjan the Turkish society has almost no information about Armenia and the Armenian Genocide. “The Armenians and Armenia are closed subject in Turkey. The Turkish society received information about the Genocide now and it is difficult for them to understand that one century ago their ancestors realized genocide. They did not learn about it at schools or Universities. There are no books about the Genocide, there is nothing and the Turkish society is in the darkness in this connection,” Genjan said. He added that the fight got a very complicated process for the establishment of Turkey’s democracy.
