YEREVAN, APRIL 23, ARMENPRESS: The State Assembly and Senate of California inspire the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by accepting separate formulas about the recognition of the Armenian Genocide on April 7. Armenpress reports that the American Turlock Journal periodical informed about it. “99 years ago 1.5 million men, women and children were slaughtered by the hands of the Ottoman Empire. California was lucky enough to become a house for many people of Armenian origin including former Governor Gevorg Dukmejian. In reality, the largest Armenian community in the entire USA is in Fresno, my electoral region. The Genocide against Armenians is remembered every day and comes to life by my electors. They mourn for the dead and the oppressed people till nowadays. As a nation we must remember that what was wrong 99 years ago is wrong now too,” Senator Tom Berihil stated at the inspiration event organized in the hall.
