YEREVAN, APRIL 18, ARMENPRESS.  Today, the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the member of the European Parliament, Deputy Chairman of “European Union-Armenia friendship group” Frank Engel. The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the President’s Staff of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that the President welcomed the guests in our country and attached importance to the active dialogue with our friends of the European community which, according to him, conveys positive impetus to Armenia-EU relations. Serzh Sargsyan assures that such meetings are a good opportunity to discuss both the prospects of the development of EU-Armenia relations, and to exchange thoughts around the challenges and issues that Armenia faces.

The President of the Republic underscored that the European Union has been and continues to be one of the important partners of Armenia, Armenia’s cooperation with the EU is based first of all on common value system.

The President expressed gratitude to “European Union-Armenia friendship group” for the activity directed to the strengthening of ties between Armenia and the European Union and readiness for the continuous support to Armenia.
