Armenian injured in Aleppo

YEREVAN, APRIL 17, ARMENPRESS. Aleppo appeared in a crucial situation since the early morning of April 17. Military activities are ongoing in a number of regions of the city. As reports “Armenpress” citing Aleppo news office, there is information that one Armenian has been injured by now. His name is Karo Avagyan, who was born in 1966. Avagyan was injured in Jabri region. According to the source, several Armenian regions including New Village and Suleimanieh are almost empty. The major clashes take place in the Aghiol, Bab al Hadid, and Setenet Hananu regions. The residents are provided with assistance.

Previously it was reported that on April 16 and 17, dozens of bombs and missiles fell on Aleppo’s districts with vast Armenian population. The bombing particularly targeted Telefon Hauay, Suleimanieh, Azizie, Jalay, and New Village regions. As reports “Armenpress” citing Beroea News facebook page, a bomb fell on a house in Haj Habib district, which belongs to an Armenian. The Armenian young men of the district tried to smother the fire before the firemen arrived. Fortunately, the fire caused only material damage.

Along with the bombing, clashes flare up in various direction of Aleppo as well. The clashes now moved to the centre of the city, particularly to Sayid Ali district of Aleppo.

According to the UN data, the number of casualties in the Syrian conflict lasting 3 years exceeds 130 thousand, 70 of them are Armenians.
