YEREVAN, APRIL 16, ARMENPRESS. The acting Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Armenia Yuri Vardanyan highly appreciated the results of the Armenian athletes who participated in the European Weightlifting Championship recently completed in the capital of Israel Tel Aviv. They brought 3 medals and the 8th team place. Yuri Vardanyan received the National Weightlifting teams’ athletes and coaches of Armenia on April 16.

Armenpress reports that he singled out the performances of the winners of the tournament Vanik Avetisyan, Ruben Aleksanyan and Smbat Margaryan.

General Coach of Armenia’s weightlifting men’s team Poghos Poghosyan introduced the performances of all the athletes who participated in the Championship giving a corresponding assessment to them and speaking about the prospects of the Armenian Weightlifting. He noted that the Coaches of our team did not speak about medals beforehand, but they had expectations which were justified.
