German KfW to provide 15 million Euros for full day water supply in Gyumri and Vanadzor

YEREVAN, APRIL 15, ARMENPRESS. The Government of Armenia and the German Reconstruction Credit Bank (KfW) will sign “Community Infrastructure Program II - Phase 3 – Armenia’s water supply and sanitation infrastructure” project implementation financing agreement which costs 15 million Euros. The project is included in the session agenda of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to be held on April 17. Armenpress reports that the first phase of the program is over, the second one is in the process of implementation.

For the aim of providing the continuation of the reforms the volumes of the third phase were also clarified with KfW bank. In particular, according to the justification of the project, the fulfillment of the third phase will enable to complete full restoration of internal and external nets of Vanadzor and Gyumri water supply by providing full day high-quality water supply. It will also allow carrying out urgent work activities in other communities of company service areas in Lori and Shirak provinces connected with water supply and drainage system repair providing significant increase of water supply length compared to the current water supply duration of 4-6 hours.
