MPs suggest progressive changes in Armenia's industrial policy

YEREVAN, APRIL 15, ARMENPRESS. The bill “On the Industrial Policy” is included in the agenda of the plenary sessions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, which proposes progressive changes in the sphere of industry, in accordance with the state priorities. In his interview with “Armenpress”, the author of the bill – deputy of the “Prosperous Armenia Party” faction Michael Melkumyan noted that the project proposes to regulate the implementation of the industrial policy, the legal relations between legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, state government institutions arising during the organization of the work of the industrial zones. "The project regulates also the relations of the processing and implementation of the state and territorial industrial development programs"- said Melkumyan.

Speaking about the necessity of the project, the MP noted that the Government of the Republic of Armenia  has been carrying out export-oriented industrial policy for 5 years already, but the result of Armenia's export volumes do not exceed 1.4-1.5 billion dollars.
