YEREVAN, APRIL 14, ARMENPRESS. The Deputy of the Republican Party of Armenia of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan finds it difficult to say who will be the next Chairman of the National Assembly. In a conversation with Armenpress Galust Sahakyan did not exclude that any of 130 Deputies of the National Assembly can be a candidate for the Chairman of the National Assembly. “No discussions were held in the party on that issue, I cannot say clearly who will be,” Galust Sahakyan said.

To the observation that his and Karen Karapetyan’s names are circulated in the media, Galust Sahakyan underscored that the media may as in case of Hovik Abrahamyan, be right again in case of Karen Karapetyan. As for me, I think I had my role long ago, so my position is my position, and that is the end,” Galust Sahakyan underscored.

The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan named Hovik Abrahamyan, the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, as the Prime Minister candidate of the RA during the session of the Executive Body of the RPA. Then during the session of Board of RPA the candidacy for the position of the RA Prime Minister was approved.

Eduard Sharmazanov, RPA spokesperson told the reporters earlier, that the party supported the Chairman of the Parliament as a Prime Minister candidate of Armenia. “Abrahamyan’s candidacy has been discusses with the political and social circles and we are convinced in Abrahamyan’s capabilities”,- Sharmazanov told reporters. As Armenpress reports, Abrahamyan was born on January 24, 1958 in Mkhchyan village in Ararat province.
