Karabakh issue not discussed in frames of Eurasian integration processes: Tatiana Valovaya

YEREVAN, MARCH 29, ARMENPRESS. There is no obstacle for Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian integration processes. The integration processes will not impact the regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh issue. The Eurasian integration processes are on the economic platform and no political issue is discussed there. The Eurasian Economic Committee Board Member Tatiana Valovaya stated this at the course of the press conference responding the query about Nagorno Karabakh’s status in the Customs Union.

The second economic conference titled “Armenia-Customs Union: Opportunities and Challenges” held by Armenia’s ruling party launched. The conference organized by the Republican Party of Armenia brought together economists, representatives of various political powers, as well as guests from the Eurasian Economic Committee Board.

As reports “Armenpress”, reports by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, the EEC Board Member Tatiana Valovaya, the Chairman of the Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Harutyunyan, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Davit Sargsyan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan, and others were introduced to the participants.

In the result of the negotiations on September 3, 2013 in Moscow the Presidents Sargsyan and Putin confirmed the aim of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation in the direction of further development of economic integration processes in the Eurasian territory. In that context the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced about the Armenia's decision to join the Customs Union and the necessity of implementation corresponding steps for that aim and in future about participating in formation of the Eurasian economic union. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed his support to the abovementioned decision of Armenia and informed about the readiness of the Russian side to support the process.
