YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan within the framework of his visit to Brussels, from October 21 to 23 held bilateral meetings with the partners of a number of countries.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan met his counterpart in Italy Mario Mauro. During the meetingg the sights discussed both the bilateral cooperation and issues regarding the preparatory activities of the Armenian troops of joining the cover of Italian subdivision to UNIFIL peacekeeping mission in Lebanon under the auspices of UNO.

The sights made an agreement to complete in a short period the legal procedures upon Armenian peacekeepers involvement in UNIFIL and to launch activities related to the implementation of the mission.

As Armenpress was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, within the framework of the visit, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan held a meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia Evelyn Farkas during which they discussed issues relating to Armenian-American cooperation in the field of defense.
