At the course of the June 20 sitting of the court Khachatur Poghosyan, who has been charged for the assassination attempt against the "National Self-Determination Union" Party leader, former presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan, stated that he is terribly sorry for interfering Vardan Sedrakyan in this case. As reports "Armenpress" Khachatur Poghosyan noted: "After the accident, Samvel told me to say that Vardan Sedrakyan ordered the assassination and that after he would help us to avoid the arrest. We did not think that such a thing would not happen and thus we would harm him. Otherwise we would not say his name." Among other things he underscored that Samvel told him that they would extort money from Sedrakyan by threatening him that they would announce that it was him who ordered Paruyr Hayrikyan's murder.
