YEREVAN, JUNE 3, ARMENPRESS: Armenia will be presented with the own pavilion at the International Animation Festival to be held in the French city of Annecy on June 10-15. The President of the animation studio of Robert Sahakyants Production David Sahakyants reported to the Armenpress correspondent that the studio’s films are not presented in the Contest’s program. “This year we will participate with the Hayk Sahakyants’ “Quantum jump” short film to present it to the European market”, - said David Sahakyants. All the potentials of 3D techniques were used in the 7-minute cartoon for the first time.

As stated by the President of the animation studio of Robert Sahakyants Production, the Armenian National Cinema Center is also probable to present materials devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Armenian animation. The Robert Sahakyants Production will present the preliminary version of the animated feature film “Anahit” at the cinema market as well.

The film “Quantum jump” has already participated in the Edinburgh Film Festival. In April it was screened at the Multimatograph Festival in Vologda. In the nearest future it will participate as well in the International Animation Film Festival Golden Kuker to be held in Sofia. 

The animator Hayk Sahakyants stated that “Quantum jump” does not have any age limits and might be attractive for everyone. The author of the cartoon’s scenario is Vardan Zadoyan and the artist is Ernest Muradyan. The film was developed during the entire 2012 and was completed in the beginning of 2013. Four specialists worked on the film. The budget made about 8 million AMD. “Quantum jump” was made with the assistance of the National Cinema Center of the Republic of Armenia. The music and audio effects were made by Tumbox Company.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival (Festival International du Film d'Animation d'Annecy) was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became annual in 1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the Association d'International du Film d'Animation (or ASIFA, the International Animated Film Association). The Festival is attended by 6-7 thousand animators and about 400 journalists from different countries of the world.

The festival is a competition between cartoon films of various techniques (animated drawings, cut out papers, modeling clay, etc.) classified in the categories of Feature films, Short films, Films produced for television and advertising, Student films and Films made for the internet.
