UNICEF Children’s Chamber Orchestra made new performance on Europe Day

YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS: The UNICEF Children’s Chamber Orchestra and the delegation of the European Union in Armenia solemnly celebrated the Europe Day. As Armenpress was reported by the Department for Public Relations of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, the concert was attended by His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and the Catholicos of All Armenians, the First Lady of the Republic of Armenia Rita Sargsyan, ambassadors accredited in Armenia and other high ranking officials.

The present were welcomed and congratulated on the occasion of the Europe Day by the Head of the delegation of the European Union in Armenia, the Ambassador Traian Hristea and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan. The Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the UNICEF Children’s Chamber Orchestra Sergey Smbatyan stated that with the concert dedicated to the Europe Day they present to the public the works of the EU member countries, which have not yet been performed in Armenia.

During the evening the UNICEF Children’s Chamber Orchestra performed traditional music works of the EU member countries, as well as the works of the Armenian composers (Edward Mirzoyan, Aram Khachaturyan).

The UNICEF Children’s Chamber Orchestra was established in 2009 by Sergey Smbatyan. The Orchestra had numerous concerts in the Republic of Armenia and Europe.
