Standards assuring safety of workers in the construction squares elaborated in Armenia

YEREVAN, JANUARY 24, ARMENPRESS: Security conditions are not being provided in construction squares; reportedly Armenian Government undertakes steps in that direction. State LaborInspectorateHead Hakob Manukyanstated in the briefing with Armenpress, the executive Body is elaborating standards on the safety of construction squares .

''We are not responsible for ensuring safe working conditions. Our duty is to launch seminars and sent relevant letters in case of breaching working conditions'' Hakob Manukyan noted.

The interlocutor strongly doubts whether the employer allocates a certain amount of money to his employees for purchasing relevant safety equipment. Ministry of Urban Development has conducted ongoing and necessity inspection in 847 new construction buildings. Lusine Margaryan, spokesman of Ministry of Urban Development told violations are being observed in parallel with the development of construction process. Inspection checking are being carried out in Regional Administrations and as well as in organizations under the responsibility of Regional Administrations in accordance with the schedule commanded by the Ministry.
