“Armavia” refused Superjet 100 for being economically non-profitable

15:38, 8 August, 2012

YEREVAN, AUGUST 8, ARMENPRESS: “Sukhoi Superjet 100" air planes are not economically profitable.

To Armenpress request Armenian national air carrier “Armavia” company commented on the announcement released by  Russia'sDeputy Industry and Trade Minister Yuri Slyusar ,according to which “Armavia” refused the intention to buy Russian" Sukhoi "company's second plane due to financial problems and change of shareholder.

Yuri Slyusar is authorized representative of Russia in "Superjet 100 Sukhoi" aircraft accident investigation, experimental flight orchestrated in Indonesia.” We are grateful to “Armavia” for the purchase of the first aircraft, it is regrettable, and they refused the second. The problem is not the bad planes but the change of shareholder and the company's financial problems, "said the official.

Aviation circles condition “Sukhoi Superjet 100" aircraft non-economic benefits by the fact that service and spare parts of it are equal with that  of Airbus and Boeing aircrafts.

So “Armavia” instead of acquiring Superjet 100 may purchase Airbus or Boeing thus denying  the information on the finacial issue.

Armenpress is waiting for “Armavia” response referring to change in the shareholder.

"Armavia" has repeatedly responded that the rumors about the sale of shares do not correspond to reality.
