The French and world media have extended active discussions over the Bill Criminalizing the Armenian Genocide Denial. Armenpress reports, citing “Le Figro”, that Turkey threats France to unleash war against that country in case of adoption of the bill.

The English Telegraph cites France’s Minister for European Affairs Jean Leonetti, who calls on Turkey to face the own history and recognize the Armenian Genocide. “Turkey tries to exert pressure on France, in the direction of which both President Abdullah Gul and the Turkish parliamentary delegation, which had left for Paris, are working.

Los Angeles Times compares the policies of France and the USA over the Armenian Genocide issue. “The murder of over one million Armenians in 1915 in the Ottoman Empire is genocide: it is a fact. The Jewish Holocaust is a fact either,” writes the newspaper, stressing that France has taken a preventive step, which will prohibit the opportunity of casting doubt on historical truths,” the newspaper writes.
